He's my bestfriend, I like him,&& he has a girlfriend. I made the wrong decision. Please help ):?

It all started out when I like a guy named James. James& I became close& soon enought told each other we liked each other. Then out of no where James started going out with my friend kayla, who knew how much I liked him. MY best friend Richard was the only person who was there for me& helped me thorugh it. He even told them off. James started flirting with me while he was with kayla& two weeks later they broke& james got with me. Awful right? ): The entire time I was dating james Richard& I stayed as best friends. Then one day he asked me if I thought we'd last as a couple& I said idk (I was with james) People always told me he liked me& that we should go out. I didn't listen /: Then JAmes broke up with me for antoher girl & I found out he cheacted on me the entire time I was with him with Kayla (KARMA)...so when we broke up richard asked me again if i thought we'd lat, but I was too heartbroke& I jokingly said no, we'd probably fight all the time (he's always pick on me in a cute way) I didn't actually believe what I said though. So about a week later richard asked out a girl named ashley. They've been going out for nine months now, she hates me 'cause we're best friends& as a result richard&I aren't as close /: When she's not around he's the guy I've kown forever, but when she is it's like he's wearing a dog collar that shocks him if he talks to me. l: Well, i liked richard before i met james, but never hada chance until that time. I regret letting the perfect guy for me slip through my fingers for a total douchebag... I actually love richard&& I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP ): What would you do??
